INTRODUCTION

It is announced for the information of the general public that the 2026 GIP Membership Application window is opened, from Monday, January 12, 2026 to Thursday, April 30, 2026 (mid-night) for the following categories of membership of the Ghana Institute of Planning:
1. Corporate Membership
2. Trainee Membership
3. Planning Technicians and
4. Planning Firms
NB: The deadline for Corporate Membership applicants is Monday, March 31, 2026 (mid-night), and that of the other membership categories is Wednesday, April 30, 2026 (mid-night)

Qualification

QUALIFICATION

  1. Corporate Membership – A Trainee Member of the Institute (OR direct entry, kindly visit https://gip.org.gh/membership/ for detailed requirements)
  2. Trainee Membership – A minimum of first degree in planning and one year working experience (including national service) OR minimum of first degree in related discipline and at least three years working experience in the planning field (including national service).
  3. Planning Technicians – A minimum of Post-Secondary academic certificate from a recognized institution and at least five (5) years working experience in the planning field.

  1. Basic Professional Qualification (BPQ) Certificate (for Corporate Applicants)
  2. Academic Certificate
  3. Curriculum Vitae
  4. NSS Certificate (Optional for Planning Technicians)
  5. National Identification Card (Ghana Card, Passport, National Health Insurance Scheme, etc.)
  6. Passport Picture

NB:
1.  All documents should be uploaded in PDF file format except the Passport Picture (JPEG, PNG etc.) with each file not exceeding 20MB.

2.  Kindly visit the website of the Institute for the list of planning programmes and related disciplines.

3.  For detailed qualification requirement for various membership categories, interested applicants are advised to visit https://gip.org.gh/membership/ before applying.

Admission Fees

  1. Corporate Membership – GHȻ1,200.00
  2. Trainee Membership – GHȻ1,000.00
  3. Planning Technicians – GHȻ800.00
  4. Planning Firms – GHȻ2,000.00

HOW TO APPLY

Interested members are to apply online via the GIP website (https://gip.org.gh/gip-membership-application/).

MODE OF PAYMENT

Applicants are encouraged to make payment via online during the application OR via the Institute’s Mobile Money (MoMo) Number 0244448608 (GHANA INSTITUTE OF PLANNERS) or Bank Account at Ecobank, Ring Road Branch, 1441000964215. Evidence of payment through Mobile Money and Bank should be sent to 0244448608 via WhatsApp.

Applications without payment will not be processed.
