Accra – September 16, 2024
The Ghana Institute of Planning (GIP) has selected Sunyani to host its 53rd Annual General
Conference and Meeting (AGCM), scheduled for the 21st and 22nd of November 2024.
The AGCM will be held at the Eusbett International Conference Center on the theme “The Nexus
between Integrated Planning and Ghana’s Decentralized Development: Prospects, Challenges,
and the Way Forward”.
The decision to hold the AGCM in Sunyani aligns with GIP’s commitment to rotate its annual
meetings and conferences across the country to foster the active participation of members and key
stakeholders in the institute’s activities. Thus, by rotating the AGCM across regions, the GIP seeks
to promote inclusivity, strengthen regional engagement, and ensure that planning professionals
across the country contribute to shaping the future of development in Ghana.
The 2024 AGCM will feature special and keynote addresses, expert discussions, and technical
sessions, focusing on integrated planning processes for enhancing sustainable local development.
